For our second artist, we have a very very famous photographer Annie Leibovitz. This series in particular is one she was commissioned to do for Vogue Magazine with model Natalia Vodianova {who is also very well known and talented, just watch out for the mature content}. Annie Leibovitz's take on Alice in Wonderland is different than most I've seen, and very wonderful also {just like most of her other work}. I do especially like how this Alice seems somewhat snotty. I think Disney's Alice, and Tim Burton's Alice are snotty also :)

So, what do you guys think of this version of Alice? A bit too High Fashion? Or just enough? Thoughts?

I think they are a bit too high fashion for my taste but I enjoyed looking at them....and how much fun to put on all those fun dresses!

First of all, I LOVE Annie. She's been one of my favorites (along with Ansel Adams) since forever ago.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the high fashion, especially when its mixed with something familiar like Alice. The second to the last is my favorite shot in the series.
I just discovered your blog through Wild Olive, and I think these shots are fun! I like it when high fashion doesn't take itself too seriously, and Alice is just naturally whimsical, you know?
