I didn't plan on sleeping in...

Good Day Everyone!

Well I had planned on getting up at a decent hour, sitting in bed and reading my copy of 799 new uses for old things by Real Simple that my Bones gave me for my birthday...but apparently I forgot to set an alarm. So I slept in and now I'm here later than I meant to be. Do you think the Duchess of Cambridge slept in this morning? Somehow I doubt it.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I certainly did. I made plenty of things to share with you guys, and we even had time to play some tennis with our good friend CW who I introduced you to here.

You should all go check out this really lovely treasury I was included in on etsy. Its a really great lineup.

Do you guys remember the secret project I mentioned back here? It's ok if you don't. I was commissioned to help with building a set for a short video for a big camp in our area. The video should be ready for me to show you very soon, but for now here are a few teaser images.

I hope that piques your interest! The video is going to be SO cool :) Here are the other things I made this weekend:

{{{I got this cheese dome at Goodwill, but it had a terrible plate type thing glued to the top. So I removed the hideous plate and replaced it with some cute paper which I adhered and sealed with Mod Podge}}}
{{{I also added the mouse for fun. Very Alice don't you think?}}}

{{{I made my first "square" garland. It turned out pretty good, but some of the corners get bent in the sewing processes.}}}

This next thing is kinda different and special. Its the first in a new series I will be doing called "Mood Mods". It will be a series of abstract embroidered pieces based on my mood. I did this first one all with French Knots. It took forever. I don't think I'll do any more that are 100% French Knots, but we shall see what my mood determines :).

I have a number of other things to share with you, but they will have to wait till Wednesday because I haven't sorted through all my photos yet. I do have one last little thing to temp you with though... These are courtesy of Alisa Burke. They certainly worked on me.

{{{I literally couldn't stand it and went to get a donut within an hour of seeing these. So bad.}}}

Have a wonderful day my friends!
xoxo

  1. French knots are so tedious, especially when you do a string of them! I always end up pulling at least one back through the material whenever I have to do something with them. It looks great!

  2. Kristen - Miraculously I didn't pull a single one back through. :::Whew!::: But it was seriously very tedious. Thanks for the compliment!

  3. You know when I first saw the square garland, I thought it was a cut up film strip. It's still very cool, but how neat would that be for a new idea?
