Featured Artist::: Tokujin Yoshioka

Good Morning Friends!

Today's artist is Tokujin Yoshioka. He was born in Saga Prefecture, Japan in 1967, graduated from Kuwasawa Design School in Tokyo, studied design under Shiro Kuramata (1987-1988) and Issey Miyake (1988-1992) and went free-lance in 1992. {{{Source}}}

His work is so peaceful. It's been so hot here recently that looking at his work somehow makes me feel cooler, even if just in my imagination :)

Pretty awesome stuff huh? I especially like #5 the snowflake image. It feels to me like walking into a fantastical snow storm and being swallowed by sublime, crushing beauty. And that Swarovski display? Whoa...

What do you guys think?

  1. Wow- these images are beautiful! It really does make you feel like you're inside an avalanche :) Or in the Ice Queen's house in Narnia!

  2. Love it!! Janee--some of these remind me of Steve Tobin's waterglass images. Here's a link to his work (awesome...really...and he's worked in so many different mediums!): http://www.stevetobin.com/index2.html
