Lace Rosette Ring Tutorial

I've been wanting to make something like this for quite some time now. And since I was cutting fabric strips for another project {coming soon!} I thought, now was the perfect opportunity. Hope you like it!

Ingredients:::
6 short pieces of thin wire
1" strip of lace
Small felt circle
Pliers
Hot glue gun

I cut my strip of lace at one inch because I didn't want my ring to be very tall. If you'd prefer yours to stand off your hand more then you should cut a little thicker piece.

Start by folding your lace in half and rolling it from one end really tightly. This is going to form the center of your little flower. When you have it as thick as you'd like it to be use your hot glue to tack the remaining tail down. After that you're going to keep rolling you lace but now you're going to twist it as you go. I twisted mine about every half way around or so. Be sure you tack it down with glue every once in a while also to keep things from falling apart.

When you've got your flower as wide as you'd like it to be put one more nice big glob of glue down to hold the end in place. Be sure you leave a tail at least two or three inches long.

Use the tail to fold back and forth across the bottom gluing as you go to make it look pretty. That part ensures that your layers aren't going to come unravelled later.

Now for the actual ring part. I used 6 shorter pieces of wire and braided them together, but you could really do this however you'd like.

I started by taking the wires and twisting them together at one end then braided them in pairs from there.

After I finished braiding I twisted the wired together again to keep them from unwinding then wrapped them around my finger. I made sure the wire was loose enough to get off but accidentally ended up making it a bit too loose, so be sure you really have it just as big as you'd like it to be.

After you know how snug you want it twist the wires around each other - kind of like you would when wrapping ribbon around a box. Then trim the ends making sure there aren't any sharp pieces sticking out.

This is where the felt circle comes in. Put a strip of hot glue across the middle of the circle and place the wire ring onto it. I put some glue over the top of the wire too to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.

Now put hot glue all over the felt circle and place it on the bottom of your flower
{sandwiching the wire in-between}.

Ta Da! Now you have a beautiful statement ring made by you! Wear it proudly friends.
