Guest Post::: The Friend Collective

My oldest son starts first grade tomorrow. A big deal for him. I stumbled upon this school supply cake from a pumpkin and a princess and knew right away that his lovely teacher needed this.

Cake Supplies: 3 round cardboard containers of different sizes, ribbon, felt ric rac, miscellaneous felt decor, various school supplies (I used crayon boxes, erasers, glue sticks, and pencils), glue gun, rubberbands

Directions: Start with bottom container, glue and then rubberband supplies. Add ribbon and felt decorations. Glue next container to the top of the bottom container. Again, glue and rubberband supplies, then add ribbon/felt decorations. Repeat again with top container. Fill top container with leftover supplies and pointers.

Teachers and students LOVE pointers. They are perfect tools when reading and writing, fun and purposeful. Miles' teacher loves frogs, so I bought wooden, pre-painted frogs and jumbo wiggly eyes, glued them to dowels and stuck them in the top container.

Keep in mind, teachers ALWAYS need supplies. This is a teacher gift that would be a treat at any point during the school year!
