Guest Post::: Meghan {Eat.Live.Make}

Hello lovelies! I am so appreciative to Janee for having me over on Yellow Bird Yellow Beard today!

My name is Meghan and I blog over at eat.live.make, all about gluten free and creative living.
As a blogger and photographer, I am always thinking of fun ways to add props into my photographs and blog posts. This time of the year it is especially fun!

Sometimes it may seem overwhelming to try to set the perfect stage with props, but it can be a lot easier to add some cheer to a photograph or product display! For a shoot I did earlier this month, we used simple elements like glitter, embroidery hoops filled with lace, some handmade christmas trees and red and green ornaments. We used some rustic elements, and had the girls interpret their idea of "Christmas colors".

Below, these old Christmas lights added an element of Christmas to the photographs without being too "over the top". White lights are prefect for any display or photographs in the winter months! They can also create some great "bokeh" in the background for product photos or photos you will use for blog posts.

I love how the simple element of colored balloons and some green suitcases in the photos below add elements of Christmas and cheer without being too "cookie cutter Christmas".

If you are styling shoots, balloons are perfect for any season! They can be blown up without helium and hung upside down from a tree limb to create a whimsical feel for a party or session. They are especially great to use with kiddos because it helps to keep them entertained!

I hope this helps give you some fun and simple ways to create displays and shoots that are easy and can be adapted for any season, and puts you in the Christmas spirit this season:) Keep in touch! Come by and visit my blog, see some more of my photography, and follow along on twitter.
