Happy Monday to you all. Today we have an "Interrogation" from Shell of the awesome Australian blog Kitty & Buck who was our featured sponsor last month. So if you didn't go visit her then, be extra sure you do now!
Thanks so much Kitty for sharing with us!

Hi there! My name is Shell, my nickname is Kitty. I live and work in Sydney, Australia but have a constant urge to travel the world and discover new places and people. My grandfather used to always make fun of my grandmother for being a gypsy and I think I may have inherited that from her! I work as a motion graphics designer but my first love is music. A few random facts about me:
I used to be a ballet teacher
I hate unfairness and injustice
My hair hasn't been it's natural colour since I was 14 (It was dark blonde at that time!)
My favourite food is Mexican anything
I love standing on the beach and letting my feet sink into the sand as the waves wash over them :)
2. Tell us how/why you started Kitty & Buck
One day in February 2012, I thought I should focus more on photography outside of work. So I set up my blog and posted a picture, that very day. I did a photo-a-day project for a long time, but gradually my content grew and I couldn't commit to more than one post a day, so I migrated to more of a lifestyle, creative inspiration, photography and fashion mixture. It's an evolving creative project :)
3. What are some of your favorite things about blogging and your blog in particular?
It's great to have a creative outlet where I'm the boss and I get to do thing my way! Of course, like everyone says, the best thing is the people that you meet, I've been so lucky to meet a tonne of lovely ladies over the past year.
4. What do you do when you're not blogging?
When I'm not blogging? haha. Just kidding. My favourite things involve playing music, traveling, going for a walk, day tripping out of the city, dancing and going to the gym and cooking. When I'm not doing those busy things I love reading a good book and watching movies (I'm really picky though, I'm a movie snob)
5. What networking do you to that you feel most helps your blogging business?
I think the best method I have found has been actually speaking directly to people. So commenting on other blogs, emailing bloggers who I admire, that kind of thing. It's important to be a part of the community instead of drowning it in your content!
6. What is your favorite or least favorite post on your blog?
I try really hard to only publish posts that I am proud of, if I'm not sure about it, I don't usually hit 'post'. It's hard to pick a favourite, just because I have so many varied posts. Recently, the one that pops into my mind is my 2013 goals, you know, because I'm excited to get going on them. It's still January after all!
I also like the photos (and the vintage dress!) in this outfit post and the story is a funny childhood memory.
7. Who are some other bloggers that inspire you?
There are so many! This is not a definitive list, but a few that pop into my head include Lune Vintage, Her Library Adventures, Paper Crowns, Breanna Rose, Love, Elycia and The Dainty Squid.
8. Tell us about your craft and how you got started
My grandmother has a lot of old fabric from when my mum was young, through to the 80's and 90's. I also purchase vintage fabric and search in thrift stores. I am gathering quite a collection, which I turn into hair accessories, detachable collars, aprons and more! My mum used to make all of my clothes when I was young, and we were always sewing and crafting at home, so it's something that I have always done. Last year I finally got my own sewing machine, so I went for it!
9. What has been your best experience through your Etsy shop?
Each time I complete a new item for my shop, the sense of accomplishment and happiness is what keeps me going! Oh, and happy feedback from people who have received my products puts a bright sun in my sky too :)

Aw! Happy Monday, ladies!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see Shell on your blog space, Janee! She's another favorite blogger of mine. Fun interrogation! ;)
I hope you BOTH have a fabulous 2013!
