Boston Recently::: Brika + Madewell /// Pasta Beach

Hello Darlings!

One of the things you asked for more of was what's going on in Boston. As many of you know, I love this city with all my heart. It's the first place I've really felt "home" and I was so thrilled to see you want to hear more about it. So I thought I'd share a couple of events I went to last week.

On Monday night Ana and Molly went with me to a Brika event hosted by Madewell. If you guys don't know about Brika you really should check it out. It's an online shopping community featuring very carefully selected handmade artisans. It was founded by two lovely ladies, Kena and Jen - I had the pleasure of meeting Jen this summer at Alt NYC and then again the other night. She is the sweetest and cutest ever. I've heard that Madewell is going to be hosting more Brika events like this in other cities so keep your eyes open!

The other event I had the honor of attending last week was a heavenly dining experience at Pasta Beach. Elizabeth set the dinner up and I was so lucky to get invited. A group of us bloggers ate with the founder/owner Susie Ropolo and her son Tyler. Susie told us all about how the idea for Pasta Beach came to her and how they got started. The name "Pasta Beach" is based on a Vogue ad she saw years ago that said, "Life is a beach". The saying resonated with her, she thought when you're at the beach everything is sunshine and happiness and if you add pasta to that you've got perfection. The family is from Italy {in fact they split their time between Boston/Newport and Italy} and all the chefs moved here from Italy as well just to work at this restaurant. The food is incredibly authentic and is made with only the highest quality ingredients. You guys, when I said it was heavenly I wasn't exaggerating. It was the best pasta I've had since The Beard and I were in Italy in 2008. In fact, I loved it so much Pasta Beach is where we will be enjoying our Christmas dinner! If you're ever in Boston, or Newport, MA be sure to visit one of these incredible restaurants.
