Happy Easter!

To all of you who celebrate Easter, He is risen! To those of you who don't, happy Sunday! Either way, enjoy the day.

Also, you should read this beautifully written post by Danni. I fully agree with everything she says and I definitely couldn't say it any better myself.

March Sponsors!

Hello Everybody!

If you haven't already visited our sponsors for this month, be sure to do so! They are seriously great. Like always. I have the best sponsors. And I love them. Yep. Awesome I tell you. Okay, here we go!

Question of the month:::
What are you most looking forward to about spring?

Hi! My name is Kandice and I am the creator behind Sweet Kiwi Crochet! I design and sell crochet patterns, and finished hats made from my patterns.

Spring is a bit different for me. I live in Phoenix, AZ, so springs here can get hot! However, my husband is a school teacher, so we spend our summers traveling around different places selling my hats. I love the spring time when I get to start applying for markets and stocking up hats for the rest of the year!

I'm Esra, the designer and owner of Myvera Linen. I studied textile engineering at university but I have been designing, painting, drawing since I knew myself. The main person behind Myvera Linen who makes these bedding sets is my dear auntie. I also own two jewelry design shop on Etsy.

I like the smell of spring.

I am a Special Education teacher, mom, blogger and wanna be photographer.  I also have a thing for re-doing my son's room over an over again. Out of that came The Smitten Image. These art prints are the perfect personalized touch to his room and they are an affordable option to expensive artwork. I love coming up with new ideas and new creations and I would love to work with you to make something special for your little one.
Evening walks and watching everything turn green again!

YELLOWBIRD for 10% off!

Hi y'all. I'm Ciera, a graphic designer specializing in brand development for creative businesses and passionate entrepreneurs. I also run a lifestyle blog where I share my adventures as a freelance graphic designer and everything that exhilarates me as an artist.

This spring I am looking forward to friends visiting me for Jazz Fest in New Orleans!

Thank you so much my friends for being part of my blog this month! I appreciate each one of you.

My Week In Instagrams

The weather has been SO LOVELY this past week it's hard to stay inside. It's been in the 30's and sunny with big puffy clouds... oh, I can hardly get enough. I'll admit I'd like it to be in the 50's so I can wear some springy dresses and skirts, but I'm in no rush. In other news, The Beard and I finally went out to brunch at Gaslight in the South End yesterday morning. It was AMAZING. If you are ever in Boston, check out their Prix Fixe special on Saturday mornings. How was your week/weekend? Anything special going on?

Interrogation::: Kandice {Sweet Kiwi Crochet}

Happy Saturday!

Today we have an "Interrogation" from our lovely featured sponsor Kandice, owner of Sweet Kiwi Crochet. If you haven't checked out her Etsy shop yet you're missing out on some serious cuteness overload. If you've got any kids in your life {or kids at heart}, you're gonna want to stick around - and then dig up your crochet hooks.

1. Tell us a little bit about you as a person (whatever you feel comfortable sharing, it could be funny serious or anything in between)?

   Hello! My name is Kandice from Sweet Kiwi Crochet and I am so excited to be here! I’m a 26-year-old wife, daughter, college graduate, business owner, creator and lover of all things yarn! I live just outside of Phoenix with my husband of almost 4 years, an amazingly supportive first-year Junior High School teacher.

2. Tell us about your craft and how you got started?

   I’ve been able to crochet as long as I can remember. Both my mom and grandma crochet and taught me a lot! I didn’t crochet a lot growing up, but I do remember making a blanket for a friend in High School, and again my freshman year of college. My husband and I got married after graduating from college in 2009, but he went back to school a year later to work on getting his teaching license, between his school and work, I had a lot of time to myself and needed something to do. I started crocheting to fill the time and fell in love, quickly creating more things then we could use alone! I decided to get a booth at the local Gardner’s Market, and things just took off from there! I started selling hats late in the summer of 2009, and started writing and selling patterns about 6 months later. I now run two separate shops, one for hats, and one for patterns.

3. What do you do when you're not working on your shop?

   Last fall I fell in love with running, and recently took up spinning as well. I love crocheting, but because it involves so much sitting I try to spend some time each day either working out, running, or going on long walks or hikes with my husband. We spend our summers visiting family, camping and traveling as much as possible!

4. What has been your best experience through your Etsy shop?

   Etsy has been such a blessing for my business! I’ve worked with a lot of great customers in the last 3 years, but the most exciting order Etsy ever brought me was in October. I received an email from Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington D.C., requesting a large order of hats to sell in the gift shop at the zoo during the Christmas season. It was such a great experience, especially since I met my husband in D.C., and that particular zoo was where we went on our second date!

5. What do you love most about what you do?

   While I technically only have one business, the pattern side and the finished hat side are two very different things. I love that I get to do both and feel that it helps me balance my work and not get burned out! I love to go to craft shows and see kids reaction to my hats, and I love it when customers share pictures of things that they’ve made from my patterns. It’s the best of both worlds and I love straddling it.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

   My favorite item in my hat shop is my Little Lamb Hat. It’s fun to make, darling on both boys and girls, and I love the completed look! In my pattern shop, my current favorite is the Unicorn hat. It’s one of my newest patterns, and it was one of those rare hats that turned out even better in reality then it did in my head!
