Around Town::: Macaroons | Max Brenner | The Langham | Sweet Cupcakes

Is it Sunday evening already? Can't we have one more day to the weekend? Please! I'm not ready for Monday. Although, The Beard is on spring break this week so I'll be doing my best to pretend we're having a 7 day weekend.

I've been very fortunate to have several new to me experiences as well as spend lots of time with my friends in the last couple weeks. I just had to share some outtakes with you all. First, I took a Macaroon making class at my local Adult Education Center. It was fabulous! Macaroon making is a very {obnoxiously} intricate process. My first attempt was slightly less satisfactory that I'd hoped. But I can't wait to try it again at home. I'm planning to in the next week or so - keep your eyes open for photos and recipe directions!

A couple weeks ago I organized a little bloggers lady date at Max Brenner. I love Max Brenner, I love chocolate, I love my blogger friends and I love lady dates. We had a really fabulous time, although I ate way too much chocolate. I didn't think there was such a thing... oh but there is.

Last Saturday Smita planned a surprise baby shower for Alaina. We had afternoon {which turned into evening} tea at The Langham hotel. It was delicious, fancy heaven. If you've never had afternoon or high tea I totally recommend it. Having never done anything like that before I was totally blown away. I was especially impressed that The Langham accommodated our extensive allergy and dietary related food restrictions. Even though we almost flipped the table when they forgot to bring out our scones I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Now I know you've all heard me mention Sweet Cupcakes before. Sweet is literally the best cupcake shop in the whole world. They make the most glorious decadent treats. They even offer gluten free cupcakes and Pupcakes for dogs! My absolute favorite is their summer time lemon-blueberry cupcake. Actually, Sweet was one of the first places The Beard and I discovered when we first moved to Boston {instagram proof} and was part of the reason I fell in love with this city so quickly. It definitely holds a special place in my heart. Not only are their products amazing but each of their shops is so beautifully decorated Marie Antoinette herself would be impressed.

Quite a few of you Boston ladies have already mentioned this in recent posts but I'm going to jump on the band wagon. When I started blogging and working from home I had no idea I'd meet so many amazing people or make such wonderful friends. I've never had a group of close lady friends until now and I'm so thankful and blessed to know each of you. Our little group has come to mean more to me than I can say. We've only had a short time together so far but I'm confident many of you are going to be lifelong friends. I absolutely cannot wait for all the adventures and lady dates ahead of us. Love you girls! So wow. Much emoting.

  5. I love love love Max Brenners. My old roommates and I used to have our birthday tradition be walking up to Copley and eating there. Such a great place! I've also been to Sweet a handful of times and I love their whole aesthetic. Awesome!
