Changes

I have big news my darlings.

For the past few weeks I have been considering the future. For a number of reasons I won't get into right now {no I'm not pregnant and I'm still planning to never have kids}. The important part is as I thought about the direction my life/career has been headed up until now, I wasn't completely satisfied with how everything looked 10-15 years down the road. So I spent some time thinking about the possibilities. I allowed myself to dream big. Deep down inside what is it I really want to do? If I could only do one thing for the rest of my life what would it be? There's one thing I kept coming back to again and again. When I said it out loud it felt right. When The Beard and I discussed it he was immediately onboard. And as I prayed about it I felt building excitement and peace.

So here it is - I'm going back to school - for baking!

I'll be attending Le Cordon Bleu here in Boston for their professional baking and pastry arts certificate program. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!? I've wanted to do this for so long I can't believe it's actually happening. After we graduated undergrad I swore off school. The running joke was the only way I'd ever go back was for baking. But it's not a joke anymore! I signed all the papers today and I'm just waiting for finalization of my financial aid. Everything should be set in the next week. Classes start in early April.
Oh yeah, you read that right. I go hard people.

Now, what does that mean for Yellow Bird + Yellow Beard? I will be continuing my blog as usual, in fact, I'm hoping to have a bit more time to dedicate to my blog. And obviously there will be a little shift in content. Recipes, recipes and more recipes! Along with my current posting topics of course. However, I will be stepping away from my shop. At least in large part. I'm still working out the details but I think I will hold occasional sales. Maybe monthly, I'm not sure. You'll know as soon as I decide. But I'm definitely closing my shop in the next couple weeks.

Friends, I am so excited about this new chapter. And I'm so excited to share it with you.
